FAQs

Do Novano profiles require expansion gaps during installation?

Yes. Novano profiles expand and contract based on temperature. The expansion gap required depends on the board length and the ambient temperature during installation. Specific expansion gap charts are provided in the installation guides and must be followed carefully.

Can Novano siding be installed horizontally and vertically?

Yes. Our siding profiles can be installed in horizontal, vertical, or even diagonal layouts depending on design preference and proper substructure preparation.

How should Novano boards be stored and handled prior to installation?

Boards should be stored flat on a level surface in a shaded, dry, and ventilated area. Direct exposure to sun prior to cutting may result in thermal expansion, which can affect sizing. Always cut boards at a stable material temperature.

What type of substructure is required for Novano siding and Lusso profiles?

Novano profiles must be installed over a properly prepared batten substructure using aluminum or metal hat channels. For most applications, battens are spaced at 16 inches (approx. 406 mm) center-to-center, with additional adjustments depending on environmental exposure or board colour.
